India’s aviation watchdog has directed airlines to urgently inspect Boeing 737 and 787 aircraft after a disturbing crash incident involving Air India. On June 12, a Boeing 787 lost engine power seconds after takeoff when both fuel switches mysteriously flipped to “cutoff.” Though the plane crash-landed safely, investigators suspect faulty switch locks.
The DGCA has ordered all affected aircraft to be checked by July 21. While Boeing and US authorities claim the switches are safe, India isn’t taking any chances. Other countries, like South Korea, may follow suit.
