Illegal call centre busted in Islamabad, five foreign nationals arrested

Jarida Report

Pakistan’s cybercrime agency raided an illegal call centre operating out of Islamabad’s G-10 Markaz, arresting five foreign nationals involved in a large-scale online scam. The raid, part of an ongoing crackdown under “Operation Grey,” also uncovered over 60 employees running fake online earning schemes.

According to the FIR, the group used AI-generated profiles on Facebook, Telegram, and WhatsApp to lure victims. The scam had a layered structure, with agents posing as “receptionists” and crypto handlers funneling stolen money abroad.

Authorities seized digital equipment and records during the operation, and more arrests are expected as the investigation widens.
