IBA to Sue IOC Over Inclusion of Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting in Paris Olympics

Jarida Report

The International Boxing Association (IBA) has announced plans to pursue legal action against the International Olympic Committee (IOC) over the participation of Algerian boxer Imane Khelif and Taiwans Lin Yu-ting in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Both athletes had previously been excluded from the IBAs 2023 World Championships after allegedly failing gender eligibility tests. Despite this, the IOC permitted them to compete in Paris, where both secured gold medals. The IBAs decision to file complaints in Switzerland, France, and the United States is influenced by recent policy shifts, including an executive order by U.S. President Donald Trump seeking to ban transgender athletes from womens sports. Its important to note that neither Khelif nor Lin are transgender; both were born and have always identified as women, as indicated on their passports
