IAEA Board Finds Iran in Violation of Nuclear Pact After Two Decades

Jarida Report

For the first time in 20 years, the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) board has formally declared Iran in breach of its nuclear non-proliferation commitments. Nineteen out of 35 member states supported the resolution, submitted by the US, UK, France, and Germany. The motion cites Iran’s repeated failure to fully cooperate with the IAEA regarding undeclared nuclear materials and activities, labeling it as non-compliance. It also raises alarm over Iran’s growing stockpile of enriched uranium, which has both civilian and potential military applications. In response, Iran dismissed the resolution as politically motivated and announced plans to build a new uranium enrichment facility.
