Hollywood Legend Gene Hackman and Wife Found Dead in Suspicious Circumstances

Jarida Report

Gene Hackman, the esteemed 95-year-old actor renowned for his roles in “The French Connection” and “Unforgiven,” was found deceased alongside his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 64, in their Santa Fe, New Mexico residence. The couple’s dog was also found dead at the scene. Authorities initially reported no signs of foul play; however, subsequent investigations have deemed the circumstances “suspicious.” Arakawa’s body was discovered in the bathroom near scattered prescription pills, while Hackman was found in another room, fully clothed, suggesting a sudden collapse. Preliminary autopsy results showed no external trauma, and while carbon monoxide poisoning was considered, initial inspections did not detect elevated levels of the gas. Toxicology tests are pending to determine the exact cause of death. Hackman’s family expressed profound grief, emphasizing that despite his public acclaim, he was cherished as “Dad and Grandpa.” Tributes from industry peers, including Clint Eastwood and Francis Ford Coppola, have lauded Hackman’s exceptional talent and significant contributions to cinema.
