On the morning of May 6, 2025, Police Constable Khanzeb was fatally shot by unidentified assailants near the Asghar fuel station within the jurisdiction of Mandan police station in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was en route to duty on his motorcycle when the attackers intercepted and opened fire, killing him on the spot. A heavy police contingent promptly arrived at the scene, and his body was transported to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bannu.
Bannu District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kulachi visited the crime scene later in the day, overseeing the investigation and issuing strict directives to apprehend the culprits. He personally joined the ongoing operation, vowing, “We will not rest until the elements involved in the incident are brought to justice.”
This incident follows a series of recent attacks on law enforcement in Bannu. Last week, three Counter-Terrorism Department officers were martyred and two others injured during a clash with terrorists in the Speena Tangi Chashmi area. Additionally, a day prior to that, a terrorist was killed and two policemen, including an officer, were injured in a gun battle near Kot Adil.
