On Friday, the Ministry of Electronics in India reported that Foxconn factories were stable despite a gradual withdrawal of several hundred Chinese workers. S. Krishnan, the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, found that ongoing operations were stable in both the Chennai and Bengaluru factories during his visit to Taiwan.
The local engineers with Taiwanese and U.S. personnel have taken over the Chinese staff. Media celebrated the change as a sign of India’s increasing capacity to handle mass production of electronics. This move reinforces the New Delhi agenda of becoming an electronics and consumer technology hub in the world.
