Firefighter Dies Battling Factory Blaze in Karachi’s Ahsanabad Area

On April 4, 2025, a significant fire erupted at a factory in Karachi’s Ahsanabad area, reportedly due to a short circuit. The blaze was classified as a “third-degree” fire, prompting a response from over 20 fire tenders. Tragically, 22-year-old firefighter Bilal Tanoli sustained critical head injuries when a heavy piece of machinery fell on him during the operation; he later succumbed to his injuries. The three-story factory building suffered extensive damage, leading experts to declare it a “dangerous building” at risk of collapse. Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah expressed condolences and acknowledged the firefighter’s sacrifice.
