The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has fined the Fertiliser Manufacturers of Pakistan Advisory Council (FMPAC) Rs375 million for engaging in anti-competitive behavior. FMPAC was found guilty of coordinating price hikes among urea producers and resisting government price regulations. The CCP ruled that such actions harmed market competition and burdened consumers. This decision marks a significant step in ensuring transparency and fair play in the fertiliser sector, as the CCP pushes back against cartelization and price manipulation.
