Fazlur Rehman Alleges Foreign Interference to Sabotage CPEC

Jarida Report

On September 15, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of JUI-F, alleged that external actors are trying to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) claiming to block the path of other countries to pursue their external aims.

During a provincial council meeting in Peshawar, Fazl spoke of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government as corrupt and ineffective, and threatened those in authority to be accomplices. He further claimed that militants are imported but not raised naturally, and that the law that applies to the mineral rights of provinces in Article 73 should be used in the best interest of local stakeholders. Fazlur stressed that JUI F would oppose any move that would undermine the sovereignty of Pakistan.
