Environmental experts have raised serious concerns about the lack of effective environmental policies and action in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), warning of severe ecological consequences. During a consultative session in Islamabad, they highlighted unchecked tourism, deforestation, glacial melting, and unregulated construction as key threats. Experts urged authorities to implement sustainable tourism practices, strengthen institutional frameworks, and include local communities in conservation efforts to safeguard GB’s environment.
