European Leaders Demand Unconditional 30-Day Ceasefire in Ukraine

Jarida Report

On May 10, 2025, European leaders, including those from Britain, France, Germany, and Poland, along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, agreed to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, set to commence on May 12. This initiative, backed by U.S. President Donald Trump, aims to halt air, sea, and land operations. The leaders also threatened Russia with “massive” sanctions targeting its energy and banking sectors if it fails to comply. In response, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused European countries of making contradictory and confrontational statements, suggesting that a ceasefire would require the cessation of Western military assistance to Ukraine.
