Pakistan has intercepted and destroyed drones entering Islamabad from Afghanistan, prompting authorities to briefly suspend flights at the Islamabad International Airport. Officials confirmed that all drones approaching the capital were successfully destroyed, preventing any potential damage and ensuring the safety of civilians and infrastructure.
The temporary suspension of flight operations allowed security teams to secure the airspace and monitor for additional threats while maintaining public safety as a top priority. Earlier on Friday, security forces in Kohat district of northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa successfully intercepted and destroyed two drones, officials confirmed.
