The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Court has told BR Shetty, an Indian businessman to pay $46 million. The court says Shetty lied under oath about a personal guarantee for a loan of $50 million in 2018. The Court issued the verdict after reviewing all documentary evidence, including confirmation of Shetty’s signatures.
He created a healthcare system in the United Arab Emirates in 1975, which then became the country’s biggest private healthcare company. After a revelation in 2019 of $4.4 billion in previously hidden loans, the company financially capitulated, causing BR Shetty to resign and leave for India
