Danish Military Bases Report Surge in Drone Intrusions Overnight

Jarida Report

The Defence Ministry of Denmark has confirmed another series of drone sighting reports over military installations, raising the level of security concerns in the country. Danish police cited that drones were spotted overnight by Karup Air Base and other places that were not disclosed.

Although there was no reported damage, the officials called the activity persistent and coordinated, which made worries about hybrid threats. The events follow the sighting of drones at other airports and power plants earlier this week. Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said the incursions were unacceptable and that more airspace monitoring would be strengthened.

The governments are liaising with NATO partners to determine whether the flights are related to aggressive intelligence collection or efforts to disorient defence preparedness of Denmark.
