The Counter Terrorism Department Punjab (CTD) has arrested 26 terrorists during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across multiple cities over the past month amid rising terrorism concerns. According to a CTD spokesperson, the operations were carried out in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Narowal, Pakpattan, and Sargodha.
Among the arrests, CTD recovered explosives, including 3 EIDs, 19 detonators, 34 feet of fuse wire, pamphlets, cash, and Prima cards. Terrorists arrested from Lahore belonged to Al-Qaeda, while four dangerous militants from Fitna al-Khawarij were captured in Sargodha. The arrested individuals have been identified by names including Irfan, Zaman Ali, Mujahid Ali, Faisal, Shiraz, Nematullah, Osama, Ghulam Yaseen, Yasir, and Imran.
