China Warns Philippines Against ‘Provocations’ in South China Sea

Jarida Report

On Sunday, a sharp warning was issued in response to the efforts by the military of china towards the Philippines, who were involved in provoking actions in the South China Sea. Southern Theater Command accused Manila of interfering with Chinese patrols in contested reefs and called on it to cease raising the tensions.

This announcement comes after the recent combined naval drills involving the Philippines, the United States and Japan that is perceived by Beijing as meddling by foreign powers. Manila has not responded but has consistently justified its actions as legal under the international maritime rules. The caution points to the increasing danger of conflict in one of the most densely traveled and disputed waterways of the world.
