BRICS Nations Slam Trump Tariffs and Condemn Strikes on Iran

Jarida Report

At the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro on July 6, the bloc—now comprising 11 countries—strongly denounced “indiscriminate” U.S. tariffs and recent U.S.–Israel airstrikes on Iran, calling both actions violations of international norms. In response, President Trump threatened additional 10 % tariffs on any nation adopting “anti‑American” BRICS policies. Member states retorted that BRICS isn’t anti‑American but advocates fair trade and multilateral cooperation.
