Blood Moon Eclipse Paints Skies Red in Rare Celestial Display

Jarida Report

On September 7-8, 2025, sky watchers will have a special treat of a rare total lunar eclipse commonly referred to as a Blood Moon due to its brilliant red color. The duration of the eclipse was 82 minutes, among the longest in recent years.

The spectacle will be visible over much of Asia, Africa, and Australia, starting at 18:11 UTC and reaching its highest visibility at around 18:52 UTC.Astronomers note that the striking red hue is due to Earth’s atmosphere scattering sunlight, presenting a dramatic celestial show for those under clear skies.
