Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Sunday announced an extension in Basant celebrations in Lahore, allowing festivities to continue until 5:00 am tomorrow, in view of the vibrant celebrations and public enthusiasm witnessed during the festival.
In a post on X, the chief minister said that the decision to extend Basant festivities was a reward for the people of Lahore, who celebrated the festival with discipline and demonstrated full compliance with safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). She urged citizens to continue celebrating responsibly, advising them to stay away from electricity wires, ensure rooftop safety, and strictly follow all official guidelines. “Let us make this historic Basant a joyful, safe, and memorable occasion for everyone,” she said.
