Basant Festival Sees Massive Influx Of Vehicles, Record Public Transport Usage In Lahore

The Basant Festival sparked unprecedented movement across Lahore, with official figures showing that around 900,000 vehicles entered the city over three days, highlighting large-scale public participation in the celebrations. Public transport also witnessed record usage, as nearly 1.4 million passengers travelled on the Orange Line Metro Train, Metro Bus, Feeder Buses, Electric Buses, and other government-run services over two days, availing free travel facilities. Transport authorities reported that the Orange Line Metro Train served 299,000 passengers on Friday and 305,000 on Saturday alone, with over 600,000 commuters benefiting from free rides during the festival period.
