Bangladesh Investigators Accuse Ousted PM Hasina of Orchestrating Deadly Crackdown

Jarida Report

Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal has charged former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with orchestrating a violent crackdown during the July 2024 protests, leading to over 1,400 deaths. Investigators allege that Hasina, now in exile in India, incited and facilitated mass killings by law enforcement and affiliated groups. Evidence includes intercepted communications and video footage. The interim government has banned her party, the Awami League, and requested her extradition from India.
