Respected Chief Minister,
I wish to express my appreciation for your recent direct involvement in the inquiry concerning the tragic incident of a woman’s death. Your decision to question the concerned officials in person and to hold those responsible accountable on the spot reflects a commendable commitment to justice and administrative responsibility. Such actions remind citizens of the disciplined and responsive governance once associated with great administrators of the past.
I was reminded of the late Governor of West Pakistan, Nawab Amir Muhammad Khan of Kalabagh, who was known for personally ensuring accountability and discipline among officers under his authority. Your recent approach appears to carry the same spirit of responsibility and public service.
I would also like to humbly present a matter that came to my attention through social media reports. It was mentioned that the deceased woman had a young child who was not present at the time of the funeral. Considering the circumstances of the open manhole incident, this raises a question that may merit further verification by the concerned authorities. While this remains only a possibility, a careful review could help bring complete clarity to the unfortunate event.
Furthermore, I respectfully suggest that, in continuation of your efforts to ensure public welfare, the establishment of a mobile or on-site food testing laboratory may be considered. This would enable immediate verification of food quality during inspections and further strengthen public confidence in administrative oversight.
I also recall an incident from the tenure of Governor Kalabagh, who once suspended an Assistant Commissioner on the spot for failing to remain fully informed about market prices during an official visit. Such examples of administrative discipline ensured efficiency, preparedness, and relief for the common people. Your governance style reflects a similar seriousness of purpose.
I pray that you continue to be guided by the values and principles instilled by your respected father, Mr. Nawaz Sharif, and the legacy of public service associated with your family. May you be blessed with wisdom and strength to serve the people of Punjab even more effectively.
Lastly, I seek your kind attention toward a personal matter. I have been awaiting my pension and retirement benefits since 2008. I humbly request that the concerned departments may be directed to review and resolve this longstanding issue.
With prayers for your continued success in public service.
Yours sincerely,
Rev. Javed Yousaf
