In a recent joint statement, the Awami National Party (ANP) and the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) have strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Khuzdar and Bannu, urging the government to take decisive action against terrorism.
The ANP’s central president, Senator Aimal Wali Khan, criticized the state’s failure to protect its citizens, particularly children and law enforcement personnel. He questioned whether the state maintains a dual policy towards terrorism and called for a clear, unambiguous stance. Khan demanded an independent, transparent, and high-level investigation into the incidents to bring the perpetrators and their facilitators to justice.
Similarly, QWP chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao condemned the attacks, labeling the targeting of schoolchildren as an act of sheer savagery. He emphasized the need for urgent and effective steps to ensure peace and protect citizens. Sherpao also highlighted the possibility of external involvement in the attacks and called for comprehensive investigations. He urged the government to provide the best possible medical care for the injured children and demanded strict punishment for those involved.
Both leaders stressed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan deserve peace, justice, and development, not violence and bloodshed. They affirmed their commitment to raising their voices against injustice, terrorism, and what they perceive as hypocritical state policies on every platform.
