What could be more crucial a time to rephrase the climate regulation policies in Pakistan then now?. Media has reported that, as a result of ''exceptionally high rates'' of rain topped with India's open floodgates has caused the thousands of people to evacuate from their hometowns and villages. The monsoon season which initiates as light and usual rain during June in most cities of Pakistan and remains till the end of August has now placed the its province i.e, Punjab in an urgency condition. Almost 10-15 cities of Punjab have been shortlisted into the ''danger zone'' including Lahore, ,Okara, Narowal and others. Due to this catastrophic condition, the rivers are at potential risk of over flooding with civilian areas at the risk. Until now, any significant action by the authorities has not been witnessed other than delegation orders to the ministries. Pakistan, has always been at a vulnerable position and an easy target for the adverse effects of climate change due to a number of factors including deforestation, misuse of natural resources, violent land practices and no sustainable plan for the climate regulation.

We are as pieces of chess engaged in victory and defeat: our victory and defeat is from thee, O thou whose qualities are comely! Who are we, O Thou soul of our souls, that we should remain in being beside thee? We and our existences are really non-existence; thou art the absolute Being which manifests the perishable. We all are lions, but lions on a banner: because of the wind they are rushing onward from moment to moment. Their onward rush is visible, and the wind is unseen: may that which is unseen not fail from us! Our wind whereby we are moved and our being are of thy gift; our whole existence is from thy bringing into being.

When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
