On August 6, a joint investigation was carried out by The Guardian newspaper, +972 Magazine, and Hebrew-language outlet Local Call. This report REVEALED that the Israeli military’s Unit 8200 used Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform to store phone call data obtained through mass surveillance in war-torn Gaza and the occupied West Bank.   In response to this United States tech giant Microsoft has cancelled some services it provides to the Israeli military over the valid concerns that it is violating its terms of service by using the firm’s cloud computing software to spy on millions of Palestinians, the company’s vice chair and president Brad Smith confirmed. Smith wrote in a Thursday blog post that the company had “ceased and disabled a set of services” to a unit within the Israeli Ministry of Defence.

As Trump administration drafts a plan for peace in order to think of probable action after the end of the Palestinian Genocide, there are certain developments taking place. According to Financial Times, who have briefed on the proposal, former Prime minister of Britain Tony Blair is actively seeking the possibility of getting a key role in postwar Gaza. Blair had been proposed to chair a supervisory board called the “Gaza International Transitional Authority,” the paper added.

Pakistan exists at the intersection of multiple fault lines which means that tectonic movements remain a frequent occurrence in the region.  The earthquake occurred at 8:17am PKT today, with its epicentre in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 195 kilometres, at a latitude of 36.51 degrees north and longitude of 70.98° east.  The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported the magnitude of this earthquake was 5.5, while the recent earthquake that shook and shattered Afghanistan was of magnitude 5.9.

The meeting between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the President of USA was of utmost importance as matters of regional security and cooperation along the lines of counter-terrorism were discussed.   It is to be noted that the prime minister was accompanied by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir, while the US President was joined by US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.  PM Shehbaz thanked Trump for “his public endorsement of Pakistan’s role in counterterrorism and stressed the need to further enhance cooperation in security and intelligence.”

Chinese Premier Li Qiang held a meeting with the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Thursday, which is a timely move toward achieving the objective of cooperation in the face of U.S. tariffs that are changing the landscape of international trade. Li also urged the EU to go against the increasing trends of protectionism and he presented that they can collaborate in technology and green energy. Von der Leyen, in his turn, stressed the necessity to control digitally and exchange knowledge with China. The two presidents presented the meeting as a strategic response to the aggressive tariffs policies of Washington and analysts pointed out that the meeting was one of the efforts of Beijing to win over European allies in a bifurcated economic environment.

On Wednesday evening, the Air travel of Western Denmark was interrupted when unidentified drones led to the closure of two of the busiest regional airports in the country, Billund and Aalborg. Flights were diverted or cancelled, and others were rerouted to Copenhagen, and hundreds of passengers were left stranded. Thursday morning, the authorities reopened the airports once the airspace was cleared though they admitted that this was the second drone-related interference in a period of one week. The incident was described by the officials as a serious one, and an investigation was launched to trace the origin of the incursions. Denmark has been expanding its air security in recent months, and the episode is an addition to increasing the issue of using drones to sabotage or spy illegally around sensitive targets, such as transportation and energy infrastructure, across Europe.
