Official report states that Tang Renjian ,”took bribes, including cash and property worth over 268 million yuan ($37.6 million) in various positions held from 2007 to 2024”. President Xi Jinping started a campaign of purges of China’s domestic security apparatus in 2020, seeking to ensure police, prosecutors, and judges are “absolutely loyal, absolutely pure and absolutely reliable”.

The HPV vaccine, which was first launched in Pakistan in 2022, has been distributed widely now. This is the beginning of a routine immunisation programme to protect adolescent girls against cervical cancer. However, vaccines remain taboo in Pakistan where it remains a major public health challenge, stemming from a mix of misinformation, safety concerns, and mistrust of authorities.  A team of female health workers was attacked on Saturday while administering vaccines against the human papillomavirus (HPV) in Punjab’s Mandi Bahauddin district, the second such incident in three days.

On September 25, Defence Minister of Pakistan Khawaja Asif had delivered a speech at a UNSC session on artificial intelligence. However, photos from this session had spread rampantly on social media platform X as users had pointed to Junejo sitting in the background. They voiced their concern over her support for Israel—sharing her tweets.   To distance himself from the onslaught, Asif said, “This woman or whoever sat behind me was and is at the discretion of the Foreign Office,” The foreign office in turn distanced itself from the controversy.   Former human rights minister Shireen Mazari had stated that one could not sit behind a minister in the UNSC or the United Nations General Assembly unless they were identified as an official representative of the government. “So who allowed this to happen and why? Is there a covert policy agenda at work viz rogue entity Israel, Bagram base, Abraham Accords? GoP needs to come clean — who is responsible?” she asked.

The Defence Ministry of Denmark has confirmed another series of drone sighting reports over military installations, raising the level of security concerns in the country. Danish police cited that drones were spotted overnight by Karup Air Base and other places that were not disclosed. Although there was no reported damage, the officials called the activity persistent and coordinated, which made worries about hybrid threats. The events follow the sighting of drones at other airports and power plants earlier this week. Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said the incursions were unacceptable and that more airspace monitoring would be strengthened. The governments are liaising with NATO partners to determine whether the flights are related to aggressive intelligence collection or efforts to disorient defence preparedness of Denmark.
