The Wafa news agency quoted security sources and reported that the 57-year old man was beaten to death by soldiers. According to the Palestine Red Crescent, their crews received his body at the Qalandiya checkpoint and took it to the Palestine Medical Complex.

According to the data collected by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), Punjab has witnessed more than 500 alleged encounters since January 2025, leading to over 670 fatalities, higher than in any other province. They expressed disappointment and concern at the increase and gradual normalization of these incidents, which it says has been established since the creation of the Crime Control Department (CCD) as a special wing of the Punjab Police in February 2025.
