The Pakistani delegation is making a last-ditch effort to settle the issue of terrorism emanating from Afghan soil through logic during the talks with the Afghan regime in Istanbul, sources said on Tuesday. Both sides held a series of hours-long dialogues in the Turkish capital, with the Afghan delegation changing its stance due to instructions received from Kabul each time. A man accused of killing former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe has pleaded guilty on the first day of his trial. Tetsuya Yamagami, 45, told a court in the capital Tokyo that "everything is true", according to local media. Yamagami used a homemade gun to shoot Abe during a political campaign event in the western city of Nara in 2022. Abe - who was known for his hawkish foreign policy and a signature economic strategy that popularly came to be known as "Abenomics" - was struck several times, and died in hospital later the same day, sending shockwaves around the world.

American multinational technology company Meta has officially launched Meta AI in Urdu for users in Pakistan, marking a major step toward making artificial intelligence tools more inclusive and locally accessible. The launch took place during the event “Future in Focus: AI and Innovation,” organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), according to a press release issued by the company.
