Aleema Khanum, sister of incarcerated PTI founder Imran Khan, on Wednesday delivered a sharp rebuke of the party’s senior leadership and the Islamabad High Court (IHC), questioning both the handling of her brother’s medical treatment and the continued delay in fixing his cases for hearing. Her remarks came a day after the former prime minister was shifted to the hospital for follow-up treatment related to an eye condition that surfaced in late January.
The move, however, sparked concern within sections of the party and the family, who objected to what they described as secrecy surrounding the medical procedure and the exclusion of family members from the decision-making process. Speaking to reporters outside the court premises, Aleema said that her brother’s health was the family’s foremost priority and insisted that no medical decisions should be taken without their consent.
