Dr. Akash Ansari, a distinguished Sindhi poet, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Hyderabad. Born on December 25, 1956, in Abal Jee Wasi, Badin, he was deeply influenced by his parents, both involved in poetry and folk literature. Ansari’s work masterfully combined themes of romance and revolution, resonating with the struggles and passions of Sindh’s people. His poetry gained widespread recognition, performed by renowned artists such as Abida Parveen and Noor Jehan. Beyond his literary contributions, Ansari was an active socio-political figure, participating in movements for democracy and regional rights. His sudden demise has left a significant void in Sindhi literature and activism.
