Ahmadi Man in Gujranwala Arrested on Blasphemy Charges Over Ashura Langar

A member of the Ahmadi community in Gujranwala was arrested and placed in seven-day judicial remand after distributing biryani (langar) on Ashura, the 10th of Muharram, prompting a FIR under Section 298(C) for “posing as Muslim” by calling himself Muslim and partaking in Islamic rituals  . The complaint was lodged on July 6 at Satellite Town Police Station, with the suspect reportedly fleeing as authorities arrived  . PPP Senator Sherry Rehman condemned the registration of the case
