Key Suspect in Police Ambush Killed During Operation in Rahim Yar Khan’s Kacha Area

Jarida Report

On March 23, 2025, Punjab police conducted an operation in the Kacha Machka area of Rahim Yar Khan, resulting in the death of a notorious bandit known as Meera Kosh. Kosh was allegedly involved in the ambush that martyred 12 policemen in August 2024. The operation, led by District Police Officer Rizwan Umar Gondal, utilized elite commandos and armored vehicles. After a fierce gunfight, the bandits retreated towards Sindh, with police destroying their ambush sites and continuing the pursuit.

This operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat organized criminal gangs in the riverine border areas of southern Punjab and Sindh, regions plagued by kidnappings and violent crimes.
