Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Defense Ties Amid Regional Challenges

On March 20, 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah to reaffirm the strong and historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The leaders emphasized their commitment to strengthening defense and security cooperation, recognizing the importance of collaborative efforts to address regional security challenges. 

Discussions also focused on enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including economy, trade, investment, and energy. Prime Minister Sharif expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s commitment to increasing investments in Pakistan, which are expected to contribute to the country’s economic growth and stability. 

Both leaders agreed to work closely to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. They also acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and agreed to enhance measures for their welfare, emphasizing the need to strengthen people-to-people ties, cultural exchanges, and educational collaboration. 

This meeting underscores the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, rooted in mutual economic interests, strategic military cooperation, and shared cultural heritage.
