A 35-year-old woman, allegedly involved in narcotics sales, died after falling from her fourth-floor apartment in Karachi’s Defence Phase 6 during a police raid. Officers had arrested a suspected drug peddler who implicated the woman as his partner. When police attempted to apprehend her, she refused to surrender despite pleas from her parents and friends. Initially believed to have jumped, further investigation revealed she fell when a water pipe she was holding onto outside her balcony broke. She was transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Her father declined a post-mortem examination and retrieved her body without completing legal formalities. Authorities discovered contraband in her apartment and noted she had been living alone following a separation from her husband, with whom she had one daughter.Â
