Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has raised concerns over the annual losses of approximately Rs850 billion incurred by state-owned enterprises (SOEs), describing them as “bottomless pits” that require immediate attention. He emphasized the necessity of addressing these deficits and resolving the circular debt in the power sector to stabilize the nation’s economy. The Prime Minister highlighted that, over the past year, no corruption cases or false allegations have emerged against cabinet members, reflecting a commitment to integrity and transparency. He also introduced a Rs20 billion Ramazan package aimed at assisting four million deserving families through digital wallets, ensuring financial aid reaches those in need efficiently. Expressing optimism about Pakistan’s economic trajectory, PM Shehbaz underscored the importance of collective efforts to transform Pakistan into a $1 trillion economy by 2035.
