Amjad Pervaiz Appointed as Punjab’s New Advocate General

The Punjab government has appointed Supreme Court lawyer Amjad Pervaiz as the new Advocate General of Punjab, effective immediately.  A notification issued by the provincial Law and Parliamentary Affairs Department stated that Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan approved the appointment in the “public interest.”  Pervaiz has previously represented prominent political figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and PTI leader Moonis Elahi.
