The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Gujranwala has arrested Muhammad Qasim, also known as Umar Khan, for attempting to illegally send a Pakistani citizen to Spain via sea routes. The suspect and his accomplices initially sent the victim to Mauritania on a visit visa, then planned to transport him to Spain by boat. The victim refused the sea journey and returned to Pakistan. The traffickers allegedly extorted Rs4.9 million from the victim’s family for this illegal migration. The FIA has intensified its crackdown on human trafficking networks, especially following recent maritime incidents resulting in Pakistani casualties.Â
