Pakistani Novelist Alishba Barech Named Finalist for Women Changing the World Awards

Pakistani novelist Alishba Khan Barech has been named a finalist for the 2025 “Women Changing the World Awards,” recognizing her significant contributions to literature, advocacy, and youth empowerment. Hailing from Nushki, Balochistan, Barech authored her debut novel at 11 and began her memoir at 14, making her Pakistan’s youngest self-published author. Beyond writing, she has served as a UNICEF Pakistan ambassador for polio eradication, a youth ambassador for mental health, and is a member of the National Youth Council. She also advises Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on youth matters.
