French Surgeon to Stand Trial for Sexually Assaulting 299 Patients Over 25 Years

Jarida Report

French surgeon Jo Le Scouarnec, 74, is set to stand trial on February 24, 2025, in Vannes, Brittany, facing charges of raping or sexually assaulting nearly 300 patients over 25 years. The alleged offenses, occurring between 1989 and 2014, predominantly involved children, some as young as one year old, with many reportedly unconscious during the assaults. Despite a 2005 conviction for possessing child pornography, Le Scouarnec continued practicing medicine until his arrest in 2017. Investigations revealed detailed diaries of his alleged crimes, along with the discovery of sex dolls and hundreds of thousands of pornographic images in his home. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
