Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu passed away at the age of 48 due to pneumonia resulting from influenza complications. Her sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed that Barbie contracted the flu during a family trip to Japan over the Lunar New Year holiday. Barbie Hsu gained widespread fame for her lead role in the 2001 television drama Meteor Garden, which resonated with audiences across East Asia. She is survived by her husband, Korean musician Koo Jun-yup (DJ Koo), and two children from her previous marriage to Chinese entrepreneur Wang Xiaofei.
