Jarida Report

MUZAFFARABAD: At least four people, including two women and two children, were killed while a 15-year-old girl was injured in an explosion at a house in Pandi Topi village in Bagh district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to a statement issued by Bagh police, the incident occurred at around 7pm on October 29 at the residence of Shakdar, son of Sohbat.

Police said eyewitnesses reported that two women, a boy and a girl inside the house were killed in the explosion.

A 15-year-old girl, identified as Aneeka Shakdar, sustained injuries and was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Bagh, where she is receiving treatment.

Neighbours attributed the explosion to a gas cylinder. However, police said the exact cause and nature of the blast had not yet been established.

Bagh police said an investigation was underway and the circumstances surrounding the incident would be determined once the inquiry was completed.

Police also rejected what they described as false claims circulating on social media by individuals associated with the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), calling the allegations baseless and contrary to the facts.

In a separate incident on October 29, at least eight people were killed and five others injured after an ambulance caught fire at a hospital in Dano Dandhal, Nagarparkar, in Tharparkar district.

According to the Tharparkar deputy commissioner, eight people died after becoming trapped in the fire, while five others sustained injuries. Three of the injured were shifted to Tehsil Hospital Nagarparkar for treatment.

Police said the fire broke out following an explosion in a gas cylinder installed in the ambulance.
