LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced revised timings for public schools, effective from October 16, 2026, to March 31, 2027, ARY News reported.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab School Education Department, single-shift schools will operate from 8:45am to 1:30pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, classes will end at 12:30pm.
For double-shift schools, the morning shift will run from 8:45am to 1:15pm from Monday to Thursday, while Friday classes will conclude at 12:30pm.
The afternoon shift at double-shift schools will operate from 1:30pm to 4:30pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, classes will run from 2pm to 4:30pm.
The School Education Department has directed all chief executive officers (CEOs) of education to ensure that schools implement the revised schedule.
The notification also authorises education CEOs to adjust timings for female students by 15 minutes where necessary.
Meanwhile, Sindh Education Minister Sardar Shah has dismissed a document circulating on social media regarding school timings, describing it as fake and misleading.
In a post on Facebook, the minister said the document was being used to spread misinformation. He clarified that the Sindh School Education Department would issue an official schedule for school timings soon.
Sardar Shah urged the public and educational institutions to rely solely on official announcements regarding school schedules.
