Dr Muhammad Salman Removed As PIMS Executive Director

ISLAMABAD: Dr Muhammad Salman has been removed as Executive Director of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), according to sources in the Ministry of Health.

Professor Dr Tanveer Khaliq, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University, has been given temporary charge of the position, the sources said.

Dr Salman took charge as PIMS executive director on August 31 on a three-year deputation, following a fire incident at the hospital.

After assuming office, he had pledged transparent action on the inquiry report and announced plans for hospital reforms, improved patient management and better medical facilities.
