ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Information has rejected Afghanistan’s claim that a Pakistani outpost near Spin Boldak in Kandahar was destroyed, describing the assertion as “fake and fabricated”.
In a statement posted on X, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence claimed that a Pakistani outpost near Spin Boldak had been destroyed after allegedly opening fire towards Afghanistan.
The Afghan ministry said its forces suffered no casualties in the clash and described reports circulated by the Pakistani side about the incident as propaganda.
Rejecting the Afghan account, the Ministry of Information’s fact-checking account said the claim regarding the destruction of the Pakistani post and the absence of Afghan casualties was false.
According to the Pakistani ministry, security forces thwarted what it described as an attempted Afghan incursion in the Gulistan sector during the night of September 24-25.
It further claimed that during the operation and subsequent exchanges of fire involving Taliban positions, at least 13 Afghan Taliban personnel were killed and several others injured.
The two sides have issued conflicting accounts of the incident, with each disputing the other’s version of events.
