RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed 33 militants in separate operations in Balochistan since September, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the military’s media wing, five militants were killed on September 24 during an operation in the Shaban area.
ISPR said the number of militants killed in Operation Shaban has reached 22 so far. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from militant hideouts, it added.
In a separate intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Nushki on September 25, security forces killed 11 militants and effectively targeted their hideout, according to ISPR.
The military said clearance operations in the area were continuing to eliminate any remaining threat.
ISPR further said security forces would continue operations against what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism.
