Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa met Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in New York on Wednesday for talks focused on bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
According to Syria’s official SANA news agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly and was also attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.
The two leaders discussed ways of strengthening cooperation and relations between Syria and Kuwait, while exchanging views on issues of shared regional and international concern.
The meeting comes as Syria participates in this year’s high-level UN gatherings in New York, providing its leadership with opportunities for diplomatic engagement with regional and international counterparts.
The UN General Assembly’s high-level meetings and general debate began on Tuesday and are scheduled to continue through September 28.
