Social media influencer Braden Peters, known online as “Clavicular”, has been charged with raping a 17-year-old girl who told police she became intoxicated after being invited to his family’s home on Cape Cod.
Peters, 20, faces charges of rape, drugging a person for sexual intercourse and providing alcohol to someone under 21, according to a criminal complaint issued on September 8. He is scheduled to be arraigned in state court in Orleans, Massachusetts, on October 14.
The allegations relate to an encounter at Peters’ family residence in Chatham in May 2025. According to court documents, the teenager reported the alleged assault to police on June 4.
She told investigators that she and Peters initially communicated through Instagram and that he later paid her to appear in “looksmaxxing” videos he produced. Looksmaxxing refers to an online subculture centred on efforts to maximise physical attractiveness.
After about a week of communicating, Peters allegedly arranged an Uber to bring her to his family’s home on May 23, 2025.
According to the police report, the teenager said Peters knew she was 17 but instructed her to tell viewers during a Twitch livestream that she was 18. She also alleged that he gave her vodka and told her to describe it on the livestream as water.
The teenager told police that she became increasingly intoxicated. Investigators who reviewed a clip from the livestream reported that she could be heard saying, “wait I’m so drunk,” before she and Peters kissed.
She alleged that she later fell asleep in Peters’ bed and awoke the following morning to him having sex with her without her consent.
Peters’ spokesperson, Mitchell Jackson, disputed the circumstances surrounding the accusation. He said the teenager had previously filed a civil lawsuit against Peters and claimed she and her lawyer approached police after Peters sought to have that case dismissed and “refused to pay money.”
Peters has developed a substantial social media following through content associated with the looksmaxxing trend. He has also become known for promoting the practice of striking or breaking facial bones in an attempt to alter appearance, a practice medical experts have advised against.
The criminal charges are allegations, and Peters has not been convicted of the offences.
