Pakistan’s security forces killed three militants during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Awaran district under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, ARY News reported on Thursday, citing security sources.
The operation was conducted in the Badrang area of Awaran, where security personnel targeted militants identified by the sources as members of “Fitna al-Hindustan.”
A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered during the operation, according to the report.
Security sources said the group had suffered significant losses in a series of recent counterterrorism operations across Balochistan. They added that operations would continue in the province as part of efforts to eliminate militant threats.
The latest action follows several counterterrorism operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa earlier this month. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces killed 21 militants — described by the military as “khawarij” belonging to “Fitna al-Khawarij” — in operations between September 3 and 5.
The ISPR said 10 militants were killed in North Waziristan, bringing the military’s reported death toll from an attempted infiltration on September 1 to 25. Seven others were killed in a separate clash in North Waziristan, while four were killed during joint operations in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan.
The military also accused Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities of failing to prevent Afghan territory from being used for militant activities and said repeated incidents along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border reflected shortcomings in border management and counterterrorism efforts.
“Clearance operations are being conducted to eliminate any remaining militants,” the ISPR said, reiterating that security forces would continue operations to protect the country’s borders.
