DUBAI: Pakistan has launched Punjab land-record services at its diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates, allowing overseas Pakistanis to obtain property-ownership documents without having to travel home.
The service has been introduced at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai in collaboration with the Punjab Land Records Authority. Pakistani citizens can now obtain a Fard — the official record establishing details of land ownership in Punjab — through the two missions.
The initiative is intended to simplify property-related procedures for the large Pakistani community living in the UAE. Previously, obtaining or verifying certain land records required citizens or their representatives to complete procedures in Pakistan.
Pakistani diplomatic missions said the facility formed part of wider efforts to digitise public services for overseas citizens. Applicants have been advised to contact the embassy or consulate via their helplines or to visit during official working hours for details on the procedure and required documentation.
